Independent MP and ex-Energy Minister Dr Konrad Mizzi today said he could not give his testimony before the Parliamentary Committee for Public Accounts because his lawyer was not available.
In a Facebook post, Dr Mizzi said that late yesterday evening that the PAC Chairman, Dr Beppe Fenech Adami, had arrogantly ordered him to attend the Committee to give his testimony to the PAC about the investigation carried out by the Attorney General into the Electrogas contract.
Mizzi said that it was his right to be assisted by a lawyer of his trust during the committee meeting. He said that this cannot happen today as the lawyer is not available given that he was not given enough proper prior notice.
Dr Mizzi concluded that he would be attending this meeting on a day that is convenient for all parties.
